I set up Beyond Doula-ing to support the parents of West London journeys into parenthood and beyond.
Hi, I’m Sharlene! I’m a 45-year-old mum to two teenagers, living in Notting Hill, London. With a background in childcare and early years education, I’ve spent many years working with local charities in roles such as Family Support Worker and Volunteer Manager, including time at Cruse Bereavement Care.
My personal experiences as a birthing partner and having two home births have given me valuable insights into the birthing process. These experiences, combined with my natural empathy, help me support others on their journey to parenthood.
Having gone through miscarriage myself, I have a deep understanding of the emotional journey that comes with it, and I’m particularly passionate about offering compassionate support to families during such a difficult time.
I started my Doula journey in early 2024, which felt like a natural step after my work as a nanny and community advocate. I love getting to know families and tailoring my support to fit their unique needs—whether that’s practical hands on help, providing emotional support, or helping with referrals. I’ve also completed extensive training in safeguarding, first aid, and mental health from the NHS and other providers to make sure I can offer comprehensive care through childbirth and the postnatal period.
As a Doula, I’m here to walk with you every step of the way, offering personalised, gentle care as you navigate your own unique path to parenthood.
